With the recent update in Season 18, it looks like Arena matches now reward you based not only on your MMR, but also your opponent’s.
This means that if you win against an opponent with a higher MMR than you, you will earn more SLP.
The reverse is also true: if you win against an opponent with lower MMR than you, you may earn less SLP than normal.
This is a slight change from last season’s SLP reward system where players receive a defined amount of Smooth Love Potions depending on which MMR bracket they belong.
This small change in the SLP reward system seems to be in line with the dev’s goal to eliminate “smurfing.” Smurfing is when high ranking and experienced players intentionally drop their MMRs so they can farm SLP on newbies.

Since the launch of the latest season, the devs have not posted the official Arena bracket list.

The Axie Infinity community has also yet to come up with an official and definite list for the new Arena brackets and SLP rewards per PVP win.
However, after several surveys from players of different PVP rankings, we have come up with an estimated bracket tier list and how much SLP is rewarded for each tier.
List of SLP Arena Rewards per MMR Bracket
Here is the updated list of SLP Arena rewards per MMR bracket in Axie Infinity Season 18:
Arena Bracket | SLP Reward |
800 – 950 | 1 SLP |
950 – 1150 | 3-4 SLP |
1150 – 1350 | 6 SLP |
1350 – 1450 | 9 SLP |
1450 – 1550 | 12 SLP |
1550 – 1650 | 15 SLP |
1650 – 1750 | 18 SLP |
1750+ | 20 SLP |
Disclaimer: As stated in the previous section, these are just very rough estimates and averages based on information taken from different sources in the Axie Infinity community—friends, Redditors and Discord users.
The SLP rewards listed above may differ slightly, or a lot, in your case. In reality, there may be many more factors that affect the amount of SLP you receive for each PVP win.
Please do your own research, do not use this information when making investment and financial decisions, and only spend money on the game that you can afford to lose.
That being said, we will be constantly updating this table once we get more information and especially when the devs release an official Arena bracket list!

Players get more SLP faster on higher brackets
One notable change since the Season 18 update is that the rate at which SLP rewards increase per bracket is now much faster and steeper compared to before.
For comparison, here is the OLD list of SLP rewards per Arena bracket prior to Season 18:
Arena Ranking | SLP Earned |
Under 800 | 0 SLP |
800 – 999 | 1 SLP |
1000 – 1099 | 3 SLP |
1100 – 1299 | 7 SLP |
1300 – 1499 | 8 SLP |
1500 – 1799 | 9 SLP |
1800 – 1999 | 10 SLP |
2000-2199 | 11 SLP |
2000+ | 12 SLP |
As you can notice, the increase of SLP rewards at around ranks 1100–1999 is not very significant.
Players did not find it worth it to climb higher ranks and face tougher and more experienced opponents for a measly 1 or 2 SLP increase.
This is what led higher-skilled players to smurf, or the act of intentionally playing against lower-ranked players to gain wins more easily.
Hopefully, the new SLP reward system in Arena Season 18 will fix this problem.
AXS Season Rewards per Arena Bracket
Think you can make it to the top?
Aside from the SLP rewards earned in each fight, players can also receive huge AXS rewards if they rank high on the leaderboards by the end of the Arena Season.
To give all players an equal chance to compete, everyone starts at 1200 MMR once a Season starts. Here’s a guide we made on how the MMR reset works during a season and an offseason.
Axie Infinity Season 18 ends on September 19, 2021 16:00 (UTC/GMT+7).
If you rank among the Top 1,000 players on the leaderboards by then, you will receive the following AXS rewards:
Season Ranking | AXS Rewards |
Top 1 | 225,000 AXS |
Top 2 | 175,000 AXS |
Top 3 | 137,500 AXS |
Top 4 | 100,000 AXS |
Top 5 | 87,500 AXS |
Top 6-10 | 75,000 AXS |
Top 10-20 | 57,500 AXS |
Top 21-50 | 26,667 AXS |
Top 51-100 | 15,000 AXS |
Top 101-200 | 6,500 AXS |
Top 201-500 | 2,083 AXS |
Top 501-1000 | 1,000 AXS |
Conclusion
For this season in the Axie Universe, it looks like PVP Arena is now the name of the game.
Players are now rewarded with more SLP when battling against other players and climbing the ranks, compared to mindlessly grinding on PVE Adventure Mode.
