Overview
Ling is a new interesting Assassin hero in Mobile Legends with a Burst Damage and Reap specialty.
What’s unique about Ling is his ability to walk and leap through walls, which makes him incredibly mobile and stealthy—perfect for an Assassin role.
Using his Defiant Sword, he’s able to hack and slash enemies before they even know it—just like any good Assassin would.
Pros:
- Amazing burst damage
- Unique ability to climb walls
- Great mobility
- Decent ganking capability
Cons:
- Kinda squishy like most Assassins
- Slow farming speed
- Requires practice to memorize wall locations
- Did I mention he is squishy?
Ling is a very powerful hero with very high killing and ganking potential.
He has a slightly high skill curve, but once you master him you’ll be an instant killing machine.
Now, we’ll teach you which item builds to get for Ling, the Cyan Finch.
Ling Item Build
Here are our recommended item builds for Ling in Mobile Legends. Feel free to tweak the items a bit to suit your play style or the current meta.
Pure Damage Build
Raptor Machete
Magic Shoes
Berserkers Fury
Endless Battle
Blade Of Despair
Haass Claws
The first build focuses on boosting Ling’s physical attack and critical damage.
Get the Raptor Machete to improve your farming power and get those items and levels as quick as possible.
Magic Shoes is a decent choice for your boots to reduce your skills’ cooldown. With Ling, you’ll want to be able to spam skills often.
For your first physical damage item, get Berserker’s Fury to enhance your normal attacks and increase your critical damage, since your passive skill initially reduces your crit damage by 40%.
Endless Battle gives a bonus damage buff on your next attack whenever you cast a skill. Ling’s second skill, Defiant Sword, is very spammable with a cooldown time of only 2.5 seconds. This makes EB an obvious choice for him.
In the late game, top off your build an maximize your damage potential with Blade of Despair, the highest ATK-increasing item in the game. BoD complements Ling’s insanely high critical rates, allowing you to shred your targets into bits instantly.
To complete your build, focus on items that give you more survivability. Haas’s Claws lifesteal is a good choice. Alternatively, you can also go for Rose Gold Meteor and Immortality.
Cloud Walker, Windtalker Build
Raptor Machete
Endless Battle
Windtalker
Berserkers Fury
Queens Wings
Blade Of Despair
You can take an alternate item build where you skip the boots and get Windtalker and Queen’s Wings instead.
Since Ling already has decent mobility and spends most of his time climbing walls anyway, you can opt to skip buying a pair of boots entirely.
Windtalker is a perfect item for Ling because having a higher critical chance lowers the cooldown of its unique passive “Typhoon.” Since Ling already has an increased base critical chance thanks to his passive ability, this will greatly enhance the effects and the value of Windtalker.
Grab a Berserker’s Fury to increase your crit chance and crit damage even more, further enhancing the effects of Windtalker and your skills.
Then, Queen’s Wings will give you added survivability thanks to its lifesteal and damage reduction. This will help fix Ling’s squishiness problem.
Again, Blade of Despair will complete your item build turning you into a mass-murdering machine.
Tips & Tricks for Ling
Here are some quick tips and tricks on how to master Ling and use him effectively to dominate your games.
Ling’s Base Critical Chance and Damage
Ling’s passive skill grants him permanent 20% critical chance, but to balance out his crit attacks deal 40% less damage. His first skill also increases his crit chance further per level.
Getting Berserker’s Fury will circumvent this effect, while items like Windtalker can take advantage of the enormous passive crit chance.
Practice, Practice, Practice!
Ling’s advantage over other heroes is his Lightness Skill ability that lets him walk and leap through walls.
With this, Ling relies heavily on walls just like Fanny. With a lot of practice, you’ll be able to familiarize and memorize the location of walls. You’ll be able swiftly jump from wall to wall in no time.
Wall Climbing Effects
While climbing walls, Ling is invisible on the mini-map which is great for roaming and ganking. You’ll also gain 2 energy per second.
When you’re on the walls, enemies can still hit you with skills although they cannot target you with locked skills.
But if you take damage, it will cancel the untargetable state. You’ll also fall down if you get caught by CC skills such as stuns or disables.
Once you fall down, your Skill 1 will get the 8-second cooldown, so watch out!
Use Skills Moderately, Reserve Energy
Ling has very spammable skills. Skill 1 doesn’t have cooldown when jumping through walls, while Skill 2 has a really short cooldown.
Use them moderately and make sure to reserve some energy to actually use your skills to kill enemies.
How to Use Defiant Sword (2nd Skill) Effectively
Your 2nd skill is a great trigger for attack effects such as Endless Battle or critical strikes.
Use this skill while you’re on the wall as it will slow enemies. If the 2nd skill deals critical damage, it will have increased slow percentage.
How to Use Tempest of Blades (Ultimate Skill)
Unlike his other skills, his ultimate skill doesn’t consume energy.
Casting the ultimate skill makes you invincible for a short time. It will deal physical damage to enemies and they will be knocked up. It can also be used as a last resort survival skill.
There will be 4 swords around the cast area and you can pick them up to regenerate energy and reset his Skill 2 (Defiant Sword) cooldown.
Take Down Enemies Swiftly
Remember, Ling is a very squishy Assassin. You’ll want to unleash all your tricks up your sleeves right away—combo all your skills when facing an enemy to kill him instantly before he has a chance to kill you.
Offense is the best defense!
Best Battle Spells for Ling
Retribution is perfect for Ling to help him gain gold and levels rapidly.
Ling heavily relies on items to increase his killing potential and he is not the best farmer in the game.

We recommend getting the Bounty Hunter talent to gain extra gold for each kill. Remember, you are an Assassin and Ling doesn’t have too much farming power.
